Alicia Pusczek, 9, from St. Louis has gone through more than most people do in a lifetime. She has undergone a year of chemotherapy and over 20 surgeries. Most people cannot even imagine what that must be like, but for Alicia, it is normal. When Alicia was only 4-years-old, she was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. After the chemotherapy and her surgeries, her leg was amputated in 2016.
Through all of this, she has somehow remained an optimistic, cheerful, and highly assertive child. She is not only active in, but also excels in school and Girl Scouts. She has proven to be a source of strength and inspiration to all who encounter her. She is an animal lover and aspires to be a vet one day.
