Yes, there are educational challenges but Brycen’s mother, Rebecca Cole, has always advocated that Brycen be enrolled in all the regular education classes. He has made great strides academically, receiving A’s in almost all of his classes. With such academic success, he is looking at the option of college when he graduates in two years.
Brycen, the athlete, enjoys swimming, basketball, baseball and bike riding. He is actively involved in the annual Special Olympics program, where he has participated in both track and field and bowling events for the past seven years, receiving numerous medals. He was also selected as a designated torch-bearer in 2015.
This DeSoto teenager loves to travel, especially to Grandma’s house in Indiana, where she makes the world’s best biscuits and gravy. Brycen also loves playing his guitar.
Brycen’s positive attitude has allowed him to endure the loss of his father and then a few years later, his grandfather. This wonderful young man defines the word, perseverance, and is a shining example of a Superstar.
