Chance Goodwin is a 10-year-old from De Soto, Missouri. Chance stays very active as he is a great runner, jumper, and climber! His challenges mainly come from being autistic, but this does not limit his thoughts and ambitions at all!
Chance has an excellent memory and communicates very well despite having echolalia. Echolalia is the unsolicited repetition of vocalizations made by another person. Chance echoes everything from tv shows to things he hears during the day, but he can use what he has heard in a way that fits into the context of what is going on around him. All his teachers are impressed with the way Chance has found to communicate. He has things to say and he wants to be heard!
Chance cares deeply about bringing awareness to his community in De Soto. He is a very strong advocate for those with autism and tries to educate others.
