Liam Niemira

Liam Niemira is a 7-year-old who doesn’t let anything slow him down! He was born with Spina bifida with hydrocephalus but has always loved keeping his mind and his body active, even though he has no feeling below his knees.

Liam is no stranger to the spotlight as he was featured a Shriners Hospital for Children commercial, and even made it onto one of their billboards in St. Louis! He also was interviewed by Channel 5 in September of 2018 to profile his wheelchair basketball team.

The wheelchair basketball team is called the St. Louis Rolling Rams, and it is a part of the Disabled Athlete Sports Association. Liam got his start on the team when his dad made him a custom-built wheelchair at the age of 2! When he is not on the court, Liam likes to play on the trampoline and play videogames with his older brother. In school, Liam’s favorite subject is math.
