The birth of a baby is always a miraculous moment for new parents, but Lucy Kinsey’s parents know the true meaning of a miracle. Lucy was born at 24 weeks gestation, weighing only 1 1b 8 oz. As a micro-preemie, her lungs were paper-thin, and and she had to be intubated for three months. After multiple surgeries and five months in the NICU, Lucy was finally able to head home weighing only 5 lbs. She is truly a miracle.
Now, at 7 years old, Lucy is in 2nd grade at Pevely Elementary where she enjoys math and art. She loves any chance she gets to be creative. She and her 5-year-old twin brother and sister love spending time together in their creativity corner at home. Her family knows that she is one of the most outgoing and compassionate girls you will ever meet. Lucy’s mom says she gives the best hugs and is very giving. She likes to spend time cuddling with rescue cats who need all kinds of love. Lucy loves spending time with animals, including her horse named Phantom. She rides Phantom every weekend with her family. Even though Lucy started her life small, she likes to live it as big as possible.
