1 1 -year-old Teagan Willson has overcome more than most of us will in a lifetime. At the age of five, Tegan was adopted from China, where she had been severely neglected in an orphanage. She had club feet and developmental delays. She was adopted by Harry and Bunnie Willson, who already had five children, three of which were also adopted from China.
Once in the United States, she had treatments to fix her club feet and vertical talus, which is extreme flat foot. Thanks to Shriners, Teagan can now walk with ease. In addition to her orthopedic issues, she also has a speech impediment and sensory and auditory processing disorders, which are getting better as she gets older.
As the youngest sibling, Teagan can easily persuade her older sisters and brother into playing games like “I Spy” and “Tag.” Teagan loves playing the piano, singing, dancing, and generally has a good time wherever she goes. She also loves to read and simply enjoy life. Teagan has an important role with Shriners Hospital for Children as a Patient Ambassador, and she works hard to overcome anything thrown her way. She is an inspiration to all
